This summertime ministry to elementary children offers a week of fun, theme-based instruction in the Christian faith. Our entire congregation benefits from the enrichment of our children as they are steeped in the words of our Lord, Creator. A sense of community developed which instilled an atmosphere of welcome to St. John's Church for all. This included children from St. John's Christian Pre-school and the surrounding neighborhood.

Christian Education Goals |
|
The Word of God is not obvious. It must be learned. The education ministry of the congregation is an attempt to help Christians focus on the relationship between the gospel and all aspects of life. Because life differs for age to age, it is important that our learning be a life long process. Our programs should reflect this.
-
Continue Sunday School Programs
-
More intentional recruitment of education Leaders, especially for elementary Sunday School. Increase offerings for adult education
-
Look into the possibility of a special evening for weekly education events for all ages
-

Jesus tells us to go to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teach them all I have commanded you. We who have heard Jesus’ liberating Word are challenged to tell others what we have heard.
-
Create a climate of evangelism within the congregation
-
Improve Web site
-
Develop a sponsor program for visitors and new members
-
Create a way to contact visitors on the day they first attend worship (i.e. in the past we have had someone deliver cookies to the visitor)
-
Continue and improve our welcoming/greeting ministry

Honest, sound and open finance give integrity to all of the programs of the congregation. It enables members of the congregation to see how their gifts to the church have been spent and it highlights the financial priorities of the congregation for all of us to see. When financial matters are other than honest, sound and open, the mission of the congregation is undermined.
-
Communicate the mission of the finance committee to the congregation
-
Continue open reporting process
-
Help other committees use budgeting process
