HIGHLIGHTS OF COUNCIL MEETINGS - December 7, 2009 and January 7, 2010

December 7, 2009
*Ten voting Council members were present.
*Council voted to send a Christmas gift of $500 to our Seminarian, Anteneh Gebreselassie.
*The Annual Meeting will be January 24, 2010 at 12:30 PM, with a snow date of January 31.
January 7, 2010
*Eleven voting Council members were present.
*Maia Beam resigned from Council in December. Her resignation was accepted with regret. Thank you for serving Maia.
*Maija Mikkelsen (one of our High School Youth) was elected by the Council to complete the remaining two years of Maia Beam's term. Welcome!
*The Council elected the following Officers of St. John's for 2009:
President: Tom Hickman
Vice President: Anne Ledbetter
Treasurer: John Wells
The following Officers will continue to serve:
Council Secretary: Elizabeth Henriksen
Financial Secretary: Charlie Deppe
* The Council Liaisons for the Ministries of the Church for 2010 will be:
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AND PRESCHOOL - Shelley Walker
CHURCH PROPERTY - Mike Ball
CONGREGATIONAL CARE AND FELLOWSHIP - Anne Ledbetter
EVANGELISM - Roger Weaver
FINANCE - John Noble
LIAISON to CRISTO SENOR de la VIDA - Evie King
SERVICE AND OUTREACH - Phil Eisenhaur
STEWARDSHIP - Kendra Wells
WORSHIP AND MUSIC - Martha Basinger
YOUTH - Maija Mikkelsen and Brian Shilling
*Serving as the Personnel Committee for 2009 will be: President (Tom Hickman), Vice President (Anne Ledbetter), and Martha Basinger
*All Ministries are building Ministry Groups. Please consider serving one of these groups. All are needed to support our St. John's family. Talk to one of the Liaisons above or Tom Hickman. Don't be shy!
*The Youth will participate in both services on February 14th to explain the themes in the new mosaic.
*The mosaic will be dedicated on Shrove Tuesday, February 16th during the Pancake Supper.
*Ash Wednesday services will be February 17th at 10:00 AM and 7:30 PM.
*IMPORTANT CHANGE During Lent this year, the mid-week meal/service times will be on TUESDAYS at 6:00 PM. This will continue the successful "Tuesdays at St. John's". These gatherings will begin on February 23rd and be each Tuesday through March 23rd.
*Council Meetings in 2010 will be held on the first Thursday of the month instead of Mondays.
